My name is Solomiya Ortynska. I was born on April 5, 1997 in the village of Hrabovets, Stryi district, Lviv region, into a family of teachers. At the age of 12, I actively started attending an art school, where I fell in love with creating illustrations for books.

At 16, I entered college, where I studied visual arts. There, I mastered many techniques and delved into academic painting and drawing. From 2015 to 2020, I studied at the Lviv National Academy of Arts at the Department of Art Glass. In 2018-2019, I participated in the Erasmus+ program in Wroclaw.

My visual language is painting and graphics. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by how one can create a whole palette of shades from three primary colors. Currently, I am exploring themes such as home, childhood, memories, and places to which I feel attached. With the onset of a full-scale invasion, I began to analyze how the perception of home has changed and a wild urge to preserve it has emerged.

The most vivid memories for me are boundless spaces, color changes, textures, and landscapes.

I usually work with oil and acrylic paints, adding lines with colored pencils and pastels. This combination reflects my love for lines and strokes.

My works are in private collections in Portugal, the Netherlands, Sweden, the USA, Poland, and Ukraine.
